# Safeguards

The following protections are always active in Ask AI.

## IP-based rate limits

Control large volumes of traffic from a single source.

## Per-usen token limits

Maintain balanced access and prevent any single user from using too many tokens.

## Chat-level control

Limit rapid or excessive request bursts within a single conversation.

## Approved domains only

Restrict API calls to approved domains, adding an extra layer of protection against unauthorized usage or token drain.
