The Algolia MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server lets AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, or OpenAI Playground access and interact with your Algolia indices using natural language, without requiring manual query creation.

Algolia MCP Server benefits

  • Compatible with multiple LLMs. Works with OpenAI Playground, ChatGPT and Claude AI. You aren’t limited to a single LLM provider.
  • Scoped tools. The MCP Server exposes only essential APIs and parameters to the LLM, reducing context window usage.
  • Isolated access and authentication. Create unique MCP server instances for each Algolia application.
You can specify up to five indices per instance and ten instances per . Authentication uses your existing Search .
