Personalization re-ranking levels

Personalization Re-Ranking controls the impact of personalization on boosting . Choose from five levels:
  • None. Personalization doesn’t affect the ranking. All users see the same result order.
  • Low. Personalization has a small effect on the result order.
  • Medium. Personalization has a moderate effect on the result order.
  • High. Personalization has a strong effect on the result order.
  • Maximum. Personalization has the strongest effect on the result order. Algolia prioritizes Personalization over other relevance criteria. Records boosted by personalization can reach the top position in the textual bucket.

Enable Advanced Personalization with Personalization re-ranking

Advanced Personalization depends on both Personalization Re-Ranking and enablePersonalization. Together, these two settings determine how personalization affects your search results.
  • If the re-ranking level is None and enablePersonalization is false, Advanced Personalization doesn’t apply. Personalization is off for the .
  • If the re-ranking level isn’t None and enablePersonalization is false, Advanced Personalization doesn’t apply. Enable personalization first.
  • If the re-ranking level is None and enablePersonalization is true, Advanced Personalization doesn’t apply. Choose a different re-ranking level to turn it on.
  • If the re-ranking level isn’t None and enablePersonalization is true, Advanced Personalization applies, based on the level you choose.
By default, Dynamic Re-Ranking doesn’t run if Personalization reorders results on the first page for that user. For more information, see Allow Dynamic Re-Ranking when Personalization applies.
