Startup program terms and conditions

EFFECTIVE DATE: May 27, 2025

Startup Program - Terms and Conditions.

Thanks for applying to the Algolia Startup Program (the “Program”). Algolia will review your application and assess if you meet the Program requirements. If you are selected to be a participant to the Program (“Participant”), you will receive an email notification from Algolia. As a Participant, you understand and agree to abide by these Program-specific terms and conditions and the Algolia Terms of Service.

1. Program Requirements.

To participate in the Program, Participants must:

(i) have been incorporated as a legal entity no more than three (3) years prior to their application to the Program;

(ii) not be directly controlled by another entity that (a) does not meet these Program Requirements (as defined below) or (b) is a direct competitor of Algolia; 

(iii) have raised less than USD5,000,000 in equity funding; 

(iv) not be a previous or existing paid subscriber of Algolia; and

(v) shall meet any further requirements determined by Algolia from time to time (together with (i) to (v), the “Program Requirements”). 

Algolia may stop the selection of participants at any time at its discretion. You will be asked to provide a valid email address and certain other information under the Program application form. You represent that you have the authorization to sign-up to the Program on behalf of your company, and that the information provided under the application form is accurate.

2. Service Credits.

As from the date of email notification by Algolia of their selection as a Participant, Participants will be granted a right to use up to USD 10,000 worth of Algolia Services available under the Grow Plan based on Algolia’s list price (“Credits”) during a period of 12 months from the Participant’s acceptance to the Program only. After this 12-month period, any unused Credits will expire without the possibility of an extension. Once the Credits are either used or expire, the Participant will be responsible for any fees incurred through the Participant’s continued usage of the Services. Participants may review their usage via the Monitoring tab of their Algolia Dashboard.

3. Program Restrictions.

Credits (i) are non-transferable (ii) may not be applied to any committed paid contract and (iii) may not be used to provide an existing Algolia subscriber with the Services. 

4. Termination.

Algolia may terminate your participation in the Program at any time. Algolia may also terminate your participation in the Program in case of violation of any of your obligations under Algolia Terms of Service, the Program Specific Terms or in case of failure to meet any of the Program Requirements. In case of termination, Credits granted to you will stop to apply immediately.

5. Publicity.

Each Participant to the Program consents to Algolia’s use of its Participant’s name and logo and general description of Participant’s relationship with Algolia in press releases, Algolia website and other marketing materials and appearances. Each Participant further permits Algolia to use it as a reference account for marketing purposes.
